There are over 1200 Calvary Chapel Churches worldwide. While we are a
non-denominational fellowship of churches we are not opposed to denominations. We
are opposed to the over emphasis on non-essential issues which cause divisions in the
Body of Christ. We believe that man's sin has separated him from any hope of a
relationship with God the Father outside of receiving the free gift of salvation
through His only Son Jesus Christ.
We place a great emphasis on the personal and corporate study of the Bible. This is
why we often do verse by verse studies in our services. We believe worship should
be alive and fruitful.
This is why we place a great emphasis on worship. We believe the only true way of
knowing you are a Christian is by the transformation that God does in your life in the
showing of His (Agape) Love to one another and to the world and a life surrendered
to Him.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born
of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In
this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten
Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved
God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God
at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been
perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has
given us of His Spirit."
