Revelation 10 Part 1 - The End Of All Things

Pastor Wes Denham

In this verse-by-verse teaching through Revelation 10, Pastor Wes Denham unpacks John’s vision of a mighty angel descending from heaven—clothed with a cloud, crowned with a rainbow, his face like the sun and his feet like pillars of fire—holding a little open book and standing with one foot on the sea and one on the land. Pastor Wes explains that this angel announces there will be no more delay; the mystery of God, declared to His servants the prophets throughout history, is about to be finished.

Pastor Wes clarifies that this angel is not Jesus—he swears by the One who created all things, which Christ Himself would not do. He walks through the unfolding mystery God has revealed across Scripture: creation and the fall, the promise of Messiah, the flood and its rainbow, the Law given through Moses as a standard no one could meet, and the sacrificial system pointing to the cross. The seven thunders, he notes, were sealed up—a reminder that not every mystery is meant to be known this side of eternity.

The teaching turns sharply practical when John is told to take and eat the little book—sweet as honey in the mouth, bitter in the stomach. Pastor Wes urges believers to consume God’s Word like newborn babes rather than sample it on Sunday mornings, warning that phones and distractions are pulling the American church into a wishy-washy middle ground that no longer exists. With the hour late, he calls the congregation to share the gospel with neighbors and coworkers, extending the same compassion Christ showed Peter after his denial.

In Revelation 10, Pastor Wes Denham teaches on the mighty angel who declares the mystery of God is finished—no more delay. He traces that mystery from creation through the cross, then calls believers to consume God’s Word like John did—sweet in the mouth, bitter in the stomach as we recognize our sin. With the end near, he urges the church to share Christ with the lost while there is still time.
