Revelation 15 Part 1 - The Wrath Of God

Pastor Wes Denham

Continuing his verse-by-verse journey through Revelation, Pastor Wes Denham opens Revelation 15, where John sees seven angels carrying the seven last plagues that complete God’s wrath. A sea of glass mingled with fire stretches before the throne, and on it stand those who overcame the beast, his image, his mark, and the number of his name — singing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb. Pastor Wes frames this chapter as the threshold of God’s final judgment poured out on a world that has refused to repent.

Pastor Wes draws out the meaning of seven as the number of completion and perfection — contrasted with 666, the limit of man’s unholy trinity. He emphasizes that the tribulation saints did not earn their place by martyrdom; they were declared holy by Christ and gave their lives because of that standing, not in order to obtain it. He also ties the seven bowls of wrath to the cup Jesus prayed over in Gethsemane — the cup of wrath He drank so that believers could instead drink the cup of life.

The application turns urgent and personal. Pastor Wes notes that the Holy of Holies closes during this final judgment because every choice has been made, and he pleads with believers to share Christ now rather than presume their loved ones are safe. He addresses cultural pressure to stay silent, the spirit of antichrist that operates through fear, and the church’s responsibility to engage public life. He closes by recounting his own father’s deathbed conversion — urging the congregation to take as many with them as possible.
