Revelation 6 Part 2 - God Shows Us The Beginning Of The End

Pastor Wes Denham

In this verse-by-verse teaching through Revelation 6:9–17, Pastor Wes Denham continues his journey through the seals of the scroll, opening the fifth and sixth seals in a message titled “The Beginning of the End.” Pastor Wes describes the souls under the altar — martyrs slain after the rapture for the Word of God and the testimony they held — crying out for justice, and then turns to the cosmic upheaval of the sixth seal as the earth shakes, the sun darkens, the stars fall, and the sky recedes like a scroll.

Pastor Wes expounds on the scroll itself — a deed to the earth that only the Lamb who was slain is worthy to open — and ties the names of believers written within it to Christ’s redemption of His Bride. He draws out the Hebrew sense of “testimony” as the evidence of a life lived rather than merely spoken words, and uses the Galilean wedding custom to illustrate the rapture, reminding listeners of the parable of the ten virgins and the danger of being unprepared when the Bridegroom comes at an unexpected hour.

The sermon also addresses the cultural moment — the mockery of God in modern media, the demonic deception behind the rising UFO narrative, and the steady normalizing of what Scripture calls sin in American life. Pastor Wes urges believers to examine themselves in light of 2 Corinthians 13:5 and to share their faith now, before neighbors and loved ones face the wrath unveiled in the sixth seal. He closes with hope, longing to see Jesus move through the LGBTQ+ community the way He moved through the hippies in the Jesus Revolution.

In Revelation 6:9–17, Pastor Wes Denham opens the fifth and sixth seals — martyrs crying out beneath the altar and the heavens being shaken — in a message titled “The Beginning of the End.” He calls believers to examine their lives as evidence of genuine faith, to share the gospel urgently with the lost, and to take refuge in Christ, the only One in whom anyone can stand on the day of His wrath.
