Revelation 11 Part 2 - The State of Our Church and The Nation

Pastor Wes Denham

In this verse-by-verse teaching through Revelation 11:14–19, Pastor Wes walks through the sounding of the seventh trumpet and the heavenly declaration that “the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ.” He frames the passage as the pivotal moment when God begins to take back the creation that was lost in the Garden of Eden, setting the stage for the millennial reign of Jesus from Jerusalem and the final judgment of those who refuse to repent.

Pastor Wes connects this scene back to Revelation 5, where Jesus—the Lamb who was slain—takes the sealed scroll from the Father’s hand as the title deed of the earth. He draws on Isaiah 11:6–9 to picture the restored harmony of the millennial kingdom, where creation returns to its pre-flood peace. He also unpacks the Greek behind “the nations were angry” in verse 18, explaining it conveys a people fixed and settled in their rage, and contrasts the antichrist’s counterfeit third temple with the true heavenly temple and ark revealed in verse 19.

The sermon then turns to the church’s calling as salt and light in a culture that has redefined truth. Pastor Wes addresses areas where worldly thinking has infiltrated the church—abortion, gender confusion, the redefinition of marriage, pornography, and the surgical alteration of children—urging believers to speak truth with compassion rather than contempt. Reflecting on the recent death of Charlie Kirk, he calls the congregation to pray for the shooter, reminding them that the Kingdom of God answers hatred with forgiveness.

Pastor Wes teaches through Revelation 11:14–19, where the seventh trumpet announces that the kingdoms of the world have become Christ’s. He explains Jesus reclaiming the title deed of the earth, the coming millennial reign, and the contrast between the antichrist’s temple and the true temple in heaven. He calls the church to be salt and light—standing on Scripture while loving the lost with compassion and forgiveness.
